This paper introduces the concept, theory of operation and applications soft open points for direct current networks (DCSOPs). The DCSOP is based on a bidirectional DC–DC converter actively controlled to behave like normal conductor. Unlike conductor, can transfer electric power between nodes at different voltage levels. With this advantage, effectively control flow direction. Thus, DCSOPs play vital role in reconfiguration DC distribution networks. device was investigated, both transient steady-state conditions. Then, integrated into microgrid model validate its ability change through modelled feeders. In addition, set reliability indicators calculated under scenarios. It shown that improved when implements network reconfiguration. Finally, an agent-based framework controlling presented. A fundamental implementation created reconfiguring with by agent, proving system regulation.
